As a local public service, accountable to you – our community – for the delivery of policing, perhaps the most important thing we do is to talk and listen to you about your concerns and priorities so that the service can be as responsive as it can to your wishes.
After all, you are our customers – you pay for the service (either through your council tax or other taxation) and you rely on us to ensure that the police meet your needs when you need them.
In order to do this, we need to make sure that you can get in touch with the service when you need to. Whether it is to report, or give us information about, a crime; or to renew a firearms licence; or to make a complaint, or to tell us what your priorities are for the service to focus on, we need to ensure you can speak to us where and when you want to.
But it is not just one way communication. We must also tell you what we are doing to address your concerns and keep you informed of how successful we are in fighting crime.
